Deadline by which thesis students (MACSS-Econ and MAPSS-Econ/MAE RIT) must secure a primary thesis reader and submit an approved thesis proposal.

*All IRB Proposals must be submitted no later than 6-8 weeks before the start of your human subjects research


Autumn Quarter 2025 (for December Graduation)

October 4  Complete & submit Application for a Degree electronically on my.uchicago.edu 

Oct 31  Final day to withdraw from graduation list without $65 penalty fee

November 7 Latest day to submit final MA thesis to IP and primary reader

November 21  Primary reader and/or IP submit MA thesis evaluation form to Student Affairs Administrator, Emma Rubenstein at emrubenstein@uchicago.edu 

November 21 All grades from prior quarters due at the Office of the Registrar

December 13  Degree Conferred

Winter Quarter 2025 (for March Graduation)

January 9  Complete & submit Application for a Degree electronically on my.uchicago.edu 

February 6  Final day to withdraw from graduation list without $65 penalty fee)

February 13  Latest day to submit final MA thesis to IP and primary reader

February 27  Primary reader and/or IP submit MA thesis evaluation form to Student Affairs Administrator, Emma Rubenstein at emrubenstein@uchicago.edu

February 27  All grades from prior quarters due at the Office of the Registrar

March 14  Degree Conferred

Spring Quarter 2026 (for June Graduation)

March 28  Complete & submit Application for a Degree electronically on my.uchicago.edu (April 24 - final day to withdraw from graduation list without $65 penalty fee)

May 1  Latest day to submit final thesis to IP and primary reader and/or preceptor 

May 15  Primary reader and/or IP submit MA thesis evaluation form to Student Affairs Administrator, Emma Rubenstein at emrubenstein@uchicago.edu

May 15  All grades from prior quarters due at the Office of the Registrar

May 31 All grades from current quarter are due to the Office of the Registrar

June 6  Degree Conferred and Annual Convocation

Summer Quarter 2026 (for August Graduation)
